Website Security
Shopping online is no less safe than shopping in a store or by mail. As more companies begin to purchase online, Internet security has become even stronger. Consumers want a guarantee that their information will remain safe
and secure while it rides the Information Highway. This guarantee comes in the form of SSL technology.

- Netsecurity.com Say it isn't so! A laptop storing unencrypted sensitive personal information about hundreds of thousands of people was stolen? A year or two ago, that news might be shocking. Now, people are numb to such headlines. It is just another day. Laptop thefts and compromised data headlines are almost as common as the weather, or last night's sports scores. The latest headline is The Gap, which announced that the personal information of over 800,000 job applicants was stored on a laptop which was stolen. I haven't done the math, but unless the same people are affected by every one of these data security compromises, it seems to me that we are approaching the point where every consumer in America has been a victim. For more about this latest breach of consumer trust, read The Gap Job Applicant Data Stolen.
- Internetguideandmore.com I started Internet Guide & More in January 1998, and registered it officially with the Lubbock Tax Office in June 1998. I started this computer, internet help service to assist other people at their homes or businesses; I wanted to offer a competent and honest computer repair service. I had some bad experiences with some computer “fix-it” places; I also couldn’t find anyone to assist me in setting up the Internet. I found it to be quite involved the first time I configured my own internet/email connection. I concluded there was a need for my company.
I’ve been busy learning everything I could on the subjects of web design, virus removal, spyware removal, internet/email setups, computer upgrades, modem installation, other hardware installations, data recovery, building personal computers, learning many software programs (Windows 95 through Windows XP, Word 97/2000,XP, PowerPoint, Publisher, FrontPage 2000,2002, & 2003 QuickBooks, PhotoDraw 2000, Adobe Photoshop, and other programs). I even learn other people’s software for them, and then teach them the program. I have many hours (8 years of hours) of experience, hands on and theory, and I'm an A+ Certified technician. I’ve taken Advanced Internet courses at Texas Tech, Microsoft training, and have had much success. I haven’t come up against anything I couldn’t handle so far, and I have a lot of patience. I teach all levels, and I have a lot of experience teaching Senior Citizens. My most unique experience to date, Paul Holmes, bought his first computer at age 88, and he emailed his family until he was 95. He was great and I miss him very much! Who says you’re never too old to learn something new?!!
